US Stove Multi-Fuel Corn/Pellet Stove with Legs, Model# 6041HF Review

Got our stove installed yesterday and we are very pleased with it. Still experimenting with the settings, but find it heats our open large area well. The stove looks nice in our log style home, and we hope that it will greatly lower our oil bills. We have it on the #2 fan setting and it is a quiet soothing sound. On the lower setting it is very quiet. Price was right and delivery prompt. No complaints at this time.

King Pellet 48,000 BTU Stove with Igniter and Exhaust Blower #5500 Review

King Pellet 48,000 BTU Stove with Igniter and Exhaust Blower #5500

Where do I start with this stove? We bought two, US Stove models 5500 and the 5500XL from Northern Tool Co.
1. Both units are not flush across the front, when placing a straight edge across the front leaves a gap in the middle in the middle of the unit up to a 1/16 of an inch. The cast door is straight, but when closed across the front of the stove unit produces a gap in the middle of the unit that allows a clear view into the firebox onmodel 5500. I called Customer Service at US Stoves they wanted pictures of the installation and a narrative which I provided before they would do anything. I then called Northern Tool and they notified US Stoves who then sent me a new rope gasket. The 5500XL is missing 3 inces of rope gasket along the bottom of the firebox door.
2. Each stove burns a bag a day, but produces little heat no matter what the setting is at. I have experienced other pellet type stoves owned by friends and have noted that they burn at a rate that warms the room to excess. I feel much of the heat is disappearing up the stove pipe. My son placed a wet towel on a chair in front of the stove blower to dry and it eventually did after an extended period. The towel was not hot to the touch. The stove pipe is a double wall vent kit by Simpson Dura-Vent installed in accordance to NFPA 211 and inspected by the County Building and Codes Department.
3. Igniting both stoves are a continual problem. Stove pellets do not ignite readily, causing the operator to empty the pellet tray, and start the ignition process over and over. This can take 10 to 20 minutes, often times we give up in exasperation. Pellets spill over the pellet tray and fall into the combustion chamber. The pellets can only be retrieved by vacuuming them out which results in wasted pellets. A customer service rep at US Stoves, named Christy, says this is nromal!
4. Ash build up is expected and is vacuumed as needed at least several times per week. The area under the pellet box builds up with ash and is inaccessible to routine cleaning.
5. Stove is warranted and an extended warranty was purchased in addition to the factory warranty. But Northern Tools and US Stoves will not back their product without the customer going to great lengths to prove their case. We just want a stove that works and now that winter is here, we are stuck with a stove that DOES NOT!

Sunforce 11240 1000-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Remote Control Review

Sunforce 11240 1000-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Remote Control
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this off Amazon a month or two ago. I was looking for an inexpensive pure sine wave inverter to replace my Duracell (Xantrex) modified sine wave inverter. I was expecting to have issues from the get go (due to the cheap price!) but this inverter is working out quite nicely. I have it hooked up to 4 Trojan T-105 batteries which is charged up with an 85 watt Kyocera solar panel and Xantrex C35 charge controller.
Being pure sine wave, I can run anything now that my old modified sine couldn't. No more annoying buzzing sounds from CFL's or TV's. certain appliances that wouldn't power up on the old inverter now work flawlessly. Some things I run on the Sunforce: Samsung 22" LCD TV, CFL's of all sizes, Playstation 2, battery chargers, laptops, electric cooler.
I haven't tripped the over current protection yet at all, not even when using items that typically surge, such as a large power drill.
No fan issues like the other review mentioned.. in fact I haven't heard it come on at all yet; then again it's winter time here in Missouri so I assume it truly is thermal controlled.
The remote keychain that was provided with the unit works great. Since I'm doing the electrical work on our new cabin, I can turn off and on when working on the electrical. Then turn it off when we leave for the week.
The only issue I've had so far is once I came back on the weekend and the inverter turned itself back on sometime during the week. This normally wouldn't be a big issue except we're limited on battery capacity and can be a nuisance if kept happening. This has only happened the one time so no biggie.
The LCD readout on the front of the inverter is a nice feature, more expensive inverters don't have this by default, though I rarely look at it.
I would like to determine how much power the inverter uses when it's powered on and in idle mode. The documentation doesn't mention this anywhere and would expect that would be a major selling point. (or, disadvantage if it's too much of a power draw). I don't have an amp meter to test what it is, if you find out please post a review.
The only other downsides is:
1) this inverter has no permanent mounting brackets. only rubber feet on the bottom. luckily the thick DC cabling keeps it well secured within the battery box.
2) the DC hookups are HAND TIGHTEN only. This can be an issue if you, like me, use the proper gauge wiring. in my case I'm using 6 gauge, which is actually borderline of being too small but the batteries are close by. I ended up using pliers to tighten the hand lugs. With thicker wiring, I imagine this would be a huge pain.
PROS:
inexpensive! I noticed the price just went up though :(
LCD readout on front panel
Keychain remote, I haven't seen any other inverters include this with the inverter itself
CONS:
no mounting brackets? I'm sure you could finagle some aluminum straps around it, instead.
hand tightened DC connections
no mention of idle power usage.

England's Stove Pellet Stove/Pedestal 55-Shp22 Wood Heaters Review

England's Stove Pellet Stove/Pedestal 55-Shp22 Wood Heaters

We bought the England's Stove Works 25-PDV pellet stove. If the stove worked properly, it would be a fantastic piece of machinery. Unfortunately, from the beginning, the stove has not worked smoothly. Have had blower issues, auger issues, constant noise, error messages, and consistent shutdowns. To those who claim that product and customer service fabulous, I say, "Wow!" Are you sure?? We've had nothing but heartache right from the beginning. The stove is cleaned and maintained daily to the utmost degree. You'd think the machinery was a Lamborghini instead of a pellet stove. Horrible, horrible, despicable product. So unreliable & problematic. Would never go near this company for endless reasons again. Should have done more homework. The company does not provide technical services (everything is your own out-of-pocket expense even if the parts are under warranty), 24 hour customer service is not available, and no weekend customer service at all. To think that Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware all carry this product... ONLY in America. Interested in reading more about England's Stove Works? Check out >>>>>>>
