(More customer reviews)I have a nickel trimmed wood stove and at first was shopping for a right angled brush set to pull the ashes into the hole that sits above the ash box. After seeing that this minor modification commanded an unjustified premium, I instead decided to price out sets that had nickel or brushed steel accents. I had almost given up in sticker shock when I found this set from Aiden's Hearth. Thinking that it probably had flaws to reveal when received, I went ahead and ordered. It is absolutely solid and heavy duty, and looks fantastic on the hearth pad. I will gladly use a hand brush inside the stove if necessary, because I want to keep this one looking new. It will still sweep the exterior just fine. The nickel rail around the base is solid, the handles are solid, there are no cheap shortcuts on this set and I can't recommend enough saving $100 or more with this product over similar sets that can't possibly be superior in workmanship. I'll quit now before I sound like a shill - just a very happy customer.

Burned and melted paint had to be cleaned off stove. Entire pot needed to be sandblasted and properly finished with heat resistant stove paint.

(More customer reviews)The gaps between the bars are too small so the ash doesn't fall through but just builds up. I doubt that the person who designed this ever tested it or used it. The Sampson 18" grate with 1" between the bars is probably better. If I can't cut out half the bars with my reciprocating saw, I may try that. It gets two stars instead of one because you can force the ashes through with the pieces of wood so it is better that the four bar grates which allow large pieces to fall through.

(More customer reviews)I am using this fan to blow heat from the room my wood stove is located in, past the stairs to the second floor, to heat the rest of the first floor. Before installing the fan, the second floor was sweltering hot, while the remainder of the first floor was too cool, even with mild outdoor temps. With the fan in place, it is moving the heat to where it needs to be and keeping most of it from just going up the stairs. It is USA made and has a heft that suggests a good heavy duty motor. Also has a nice long cord to reach low outlets. Has two speeds, according to the box, delivering 60 cfm and 90 cfm, consumes 25 watts.

They are great to move logs or to put them into the fireplace, not stiff at all like my old fireplace gloves. They're strong enough to protect very well from sparks, hot burning logs, and heat from the fire. They fit both my husband, who is 6'2", and myself, so anybody could use them. I'd highly recommend them.
